Makere Thekiso-Chief Operating Officer (COO) RISE. "Telling stories is a calling and I am honoring it. My true passion is crafting thought provoking stories and images from my personal experience as a Sotho man who grew up in the village. I was also briefly raised in the township called Khayelitsha in Cape Town. I have lived in the inner city in Jozi, Berea, the middle class suburb of Mondeor in the South of Jozi until I finished my studies in a small town called QwaQwa in the Free State which has given me a diverse outlook on life and my work. I studied Law and International Relations at Wits University and this has allowed me to build great discipline when it comes to approaching my craft. I have had the opportunity to travel and work in the rest of African continent, where I have produced or directed creative works in countries like Ghana, Botswana, Zambia, Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania and the U,A,E for numerous clients. This has greatly influenced my storytelling style and how I view the world as an African creative.
